Uncertain of the Future?

 June 15, 2021

As everyone gets older, they begin to graduate or want a change in their life path. We are able to see how others are affected by thinking of the future while others may seem to have it all together. As you get older, you may realize you do not have a set plan for the future. This may seem like a scary thing because the future is such an unknown and not knowing the path you are on may cause stress and struggles. The uncertainty isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it shows how you are able to create your own future because you have a blank slate in front of you.

When going through life people sometimes feel like they are being rushed into certain seasons, late bloomers for others, or even strugging to find their path; and sometimes this can be sparked by seeing their peers progressing with their life and careers. This then can cause frustration with not knowing what their next step may be or why they haven’t reached a certain place in their lives. In this day in age everything is constantly changing and adapting to transitions and changes in life can be difficult. But what might be the right path for one person may not be the right decision for someone else.

As we progress in life, we begin to find what we love and where we want to be in live and this comes at many different ages and seasons. I have spoken to many people over the years who’ve identified when they found their passion and right path of life. Some have said they found their passion in high school, some realized it after college, and some even when entering their 40s or 50s; it all truly depends on the person. The future is a scary thing to try and figure out but when we take a step back from the busyness, we are able to realize that living in the moment and seeing that everything in your past has led you to this point of where you are supposed to be, we can find peace and comfort.

When you begin to think about the years ahead and what may happen or may not happen, try to slow the thought process down and think about where you potentially would like to be and a first step you can take to get there. You don’t have to fit into the world, the world needs to adjust to be able to fit you and all that you are capable of. I’m here to remind you to stay flexible. Everything will not always happen as you envisioned it, but trust that there is a lesson in it all. So, take this time of uncertainty and explore, remain open, and take it all in. Take the time to identify you what you like, don’t like, where you want to live, who you want to be and with who you want to experience life. This time of uncertainty is terrifying but, if you allow it, it can also be a blessing because you have the ability to look at the world and make it yours.
